
CHC30125 - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and care will enable you to become an early childhood educator or assistant, who can plan and provide education and care for infants and children up to twelve years of age. As an early childhood educator, you will be actively involved in the education and care of children to ensure they gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to achieve their potential. This Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to implement the organisational policies and procedures to provide education and care for children. You will learn to support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, you may work under direct supervision or independently.

Course Duration & Structure
The CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care has both classroom and practical placement components. The non-placement aspect of the course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom environment at two days per week for 26 weeks along with 16 hours per week of research and project work (self study),
and 6 hours per week of Workplace Tasks Applications. To successfully complete your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education qualification, you will need to complete workplace-based experience with a registered Early Education & Care facility, for a minimum of 180 hours. This vocational placement is designed to solidify your practical experience and skills in working with children. The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education course has been specifically designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to work safely and effectively with young children, providing an opportunity for those with a passion for our youth to take on an exciting role in children’s education and care.
Entry Requirements
- Applicants will be required to undertake a Pre Training Review to determine English level and overall suitability for the course, and;
- Current Police Check.
- Current Working With Children Check
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL is offered to any Learner who can provide evidence of competency for the units offered within this Certificate III in Early Childhood Education course. During the enrolment process a potential Learner may discuss any prior evidence before commencing training to determine if they are eligible for RPL.
